Her sister Hailey began having seizures at 22 months old. She has endured months in the hospital, a coma and 3 brain surgeries. Ashley sang her songs in the hospital and held her hand. Since we have been home she continues to take care of her sister. She helps her walk, plays with her and helps with her feedings and medications. She tells me not to worry because Hailey will be ok. Ashley is so strong and brave. I would love for her to feel as special as she is. There is no closet for her clothes they hang out in the open and to high for her to reach. She has a mish mash of dressers. Juliet only spends time in her room to sleep. Its not inviting and doesn't hold her toys and books. She has Down Syndrom and I would like her room to be more user friendly, a space she would like to be in and use independently. In June 2011, Ruben died of a rare form of brain cancer. Ruben was only in the hospital for 4 weeks, but that short time was devastating, as his brother Mom, and Dad now lived there. When Ruben died, Miles grieving was profound. He screamed daily in anger/sorrow and would not sleep in his room all night. He would go into Ruben's room where he told his mom and dad he could "feel him", and would talk to him. Miles heart needs magic. At 7 ½ months pregnant, I’m working 57 hours a week to pay for supplies and to allow me to take some maternity leave as a single mom. Things always take longer than expected and the house isn’t going to be finished before the baby arrives! I‘d love to be working on the nursery right now but finishing the kitchen/living room are more important. Both of them have John Deere tractors and have spent hours with Brady on their laps as they drive the tractor around the yard. Sadly, his Grandfather in Connecticut has been moved to an assisted living home due to Alzheimer's disease. His other Grandfather lives in Minnesota, so we see him once or twice a year. I would love to bring the John Deere joy to Brady's bedroom so he can cherish his time with his Grandfathers even when he cannot be with them.
