After all the drama surrounding the new whale tail fountain on the Parade Plaza in New London, we thought it would be fun to take a lighter approach to the topic.
We're hosting this Name That Whale contest to see who can come up with the best unofficial name for the whale sculpture.
Submissions are now closed and a panel has narrowed the submissions down to 20. Public voting will begin here on June 27.
The winner has been selected! The name "Sounder" received the most votes from the public.
"Sounder" was submitted by two separate individuals - Raymond Hall of Niantic and Katleen Welch of Quaker Hill. Both will win a pair of tickets on the Mystic Whaler tall ship.
Yes! The winner of the public vote will receive a pair of tickets for the Mystic Whaler Tall Ship.
